Cam Movies: We have been looking forward
having this interview with you.
Sende: The pleasure is mine, thanks for
having me.
CM: Where are you from?
Sende: I'm from the Ndop in the North
West region of Cameroon.
CM: When did you join acting?
Sende: I started acting in 2010.
CM: How many movies have you been part of so far?
Sende: I have done 14 films so far.
CM: Which will you consider your most successful project?
Sende: “Switch Roles” is my most
successful film.
CM: will you consider acting as a
career for you in the future?
Sende: I am already into acting and I live
my life as an actress.
CM: Is the Cameroon film industry making any progress in
your opinion?
Sende: In my opinion, the Cameroon film
industry has greatly improved over the years and we are headed for higher
heights.
CM: What is your take on the move from the name Cameroon
Film Industry to Cameroon Film Industry Incorporated?
Sende: CFI is our treasured baby but we
welcome CFI inc with open arms because change is the only constant thing in
life. I personally have no issues with the merger.
CM: Do you see this as a move in the right direction?
Sende: We are one country with two languages
we must accept that as film makers and use this to our own advantage. The
merger will open up more avenues for us Anglophone actresses in French films
done in Cameroon.
CM: What in your opinion are the problems facing Cameroon
film industry?
Sende: CFI is facing the problem of self-centered
egoistic leaders who want fame and fortune at the expense of others hard work
and dedication.
CM: In your opinion is there any locally or internationally
recognized face in CFI?
Sende: Of course there are locally and
internationally known faces such as Solange Ojong, Yijika Solange, Epule Jeff,
Nchifor Valery and many more that are up-coming.
CM: In your opinion, is it true that producers are more
famous in CFI than actors?
Sende: Yes a few producers are way famous
than actor: They make great movies and don't make any effort to get the talent
recognized. Actors are not appreciated.
CM: Who will you consider your role models in CFI?
Sende: I am my own role model.
CM: As an actress have you won or have
you been nominated in any local or international award?
Sende: Well I've had an international
nomination in London for the Zafaa Award as best actress in an indigenous film
in the film “Shembeh”.
CM: What will be your advice to young Cameroonians
wanting to join CFI?
Sende: I will advise them that talent,
hard work and dedication are the only things that can help you achieve your
dreams and goals. Trust in God and hurt no one in your quest of rising to the
top.
CM: Thanks for talking time to participate in this
interview.
Sende: You are welcome
